Classical Guitar Classes (Age 5 - Adults)

For complete beginners, we strongly recommend starting with classical guitar. The nylon strings are gentler on the fingertips and help build strength, preparing students who may want to move on to acoustic or electric guitar later.

Guitarist’s Way Series (Age 5 - Adults)

For beginners, we use the Guitarist’s Way books by Peter Nuttall. This series introduces essential techniques in a fun, easy-to-follow way, with illustrations to keep young players engaged.

Graded Examinations for All Ages

Our classical guitar exams follow Trinity Examinations to help students progress through grades, earning UCAS points from Grade 5 onward for achievements like Pass, Merit, or Distinction. The number of points varies based on the grade results (Pass, Merit, Distinction).

Acoustic Guitar Lessons (Age 12 - Adults)

In acoustic guitar lessons, students learn popular songs, from finger style classics to rhythm playing. With our expert guidance, students will master sheet music, TAB reading, and the essentials of melody and rhythm.

Acoustic Examinations (Age 12 - Adults)

Our acoustic students can take Rockschool exams which are tailored to students who want to broaden their musical understanding, earning UCAS points from Grade 5 onward. These exams help deepen their musical knowledge, with points awarded based on exam scores.

Electric Guitar Lessons (Age 12 - Adults)

Our electric guitar lessons are perfect for those who want to make some noise. Whether you aspire to play like Jimi Hendrix, perform solos like Stevie Ray Vaughan, or shred like Slash, our lessons are fun, energetic, and loud!

Lessons will focus on reading music and understanding TAB. Our expert teachers will get to know each student's song preferences and provide sheet music to help develop their skills. Students will learn key elements of music, including melody, rhythm, solos, and much more.

Styles and Duets

Books allow students to personalise exams, choosing from repertoire lists up to Grade 5. With options like Trinity’s Raise The Bar and Performance Edition, students can select pieces that suit their style and strengths.

Focused Techniques for Guitarists

Each grade includes exercises specific to guitar, helping students practice techniques like scales and arpeggios in a performance setting.

Benefit from industry expertise

Our syllabus was crafted with input from classical guitar experts. On our resources page, students can find videos and articles that provide demos, technical tips, and professional guidance. We offer classical guitar exams from Initial to Grade 8. The Initial exam is designed to introduce new performers to the exam system.
